Taking the old farmhouse and barn, we are creating the perfect large self catering holiday home across two, luxury 4 bedroom properties separated by a barn which will house a shared games & TV room. These can be booked separately or together.

The properties will create the perfect space for a large group and ideal for a multi family gathering, multiple generations as well as a group of couples.

The shared games & TV room can be used by either property or when booked together, a super place for guests of all ages to hang out.

With stunning views from the floor to ceiling windows of both kitchens, the Lake District will feel like an extension of your cottage whatever the weather, whatever the season. And of course, uninterrupted views of the donkey’s too!

From the ground upwards, Parkgate Farm & High Frith Barn will have great eco credentials too which further confirm our passion for sustainable tourism and processes to help keep this piece of the Lake District as magical for generation upon generation to follow.

Both properties have 4 bedrooms (with 1 of the bedrooms located downstairs that will be fully accessible), 2 bathrooms plus downstairs WC creating a large self catering property for up to 16 people.

With open plan kitchens and dining areas that have uninterupted views of the fields and fells beyond. Relax in the spacious living room with patio doors leading outside after taking in all the fresh air and open spaces the Western Lake District has to offer.

The shared games room (shared only by house guests) will have a pool table, table tennis, table football and TV room.

With almost no light polution, the dark skies here at Parkgate are a stargazers paradise. Capture the constalations even with your phone and even experience the Northern Lights. For those who are into astro photography, you have the perfect location for setting up kit or leaving a timelapse camera going on the patio and capturing stars, planets, the Milky Way and aurora events throughout the year. 

The farm is home to a wealth of wildlife throughout the day and night. See red squirrels dart up trees and play, hares hopping about and red deer. Bring your binoculars for bird watching with species like Woodpeckers, Thrushes, Finches and Tits also birds of prey such as sparrowhawks, buzzards and kestrels. In Spring the cuckoos come calling and in the summer the swallows and swifts will be out playing and swooping between the legs of the donkey's!

At night hear the deer, look out for barn owls and tawny owls, the chance of short eared owls and also bats. They'll be more species look out for, you'll have to tell us what you have seen!
